Burning Bush 875.jpg

Burning Bush

This is the piece that started it all in August 1975. My sister was getting married. I asked myself what might I get for them as a gift. I had always liked the looks of stained glass so I said “I will make them a window.” Not knowing a thing about glass art, I went to a glass store and picked up some glass, lead came, a cutter, and solder. This photo, taken by a Brownie camera, is my rendition of the Burning Bush from the bible and my gift to them. Hebrew letters spelling the word chai are leaping out of the flames. After this piece and due to internship, residency, fellowship and practice, there was a 20 year hiatus before I made my next work of art.
